Militant outfit Al-Umar claims responsibility for Anantnag attack

Srinagar, Jun 12 (UNI): A local militant outfit called Al-Umar has claimed responsibility for the Anantnag attack in which five CRPF personnel were killed and a police officer was among those injured on Wednesday afternoon.

A caller who identified himself as spokesman of the outfit told local media that the militants of the outfit had carried out the attack, which came four months after Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) attack on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway in February this year in which 44 CRPF personnel were killed and several others were wounded.

He threatened more such attack in future.

The slain CRPF personnel were identified as Neeru Sharma and Ramesh Kumar both assistant sub-inspectors, constable Satinder Kumar, M.K. Khushwa and Mahesh Kumar.
