Mumbai, Apr 18 (IBNS): At a time his brother Anil Ambani is getting targeted on a daily basis by the country's oldest political outfit over Rafale, Reliance chairman Mukesh Ambani on Thursday openly backed Congress candidate from South Mumbai constituency Milind Deora, as the country is going through a seven-phase General Elections.

In a video shared by Deora on Twitter, Mukesh Ambani is heard saying, "Milind is the man for South Mumbai. Having represented South Bombay (Mumbai) for 10 years, I believe Milind has in-depth knowledge of social, economic and cultural ecosystem of the South Bombay constituency."

The Congress leader shared the video saying, "From small shopkeepers to large industrialists - for everyone, South Mumbai means business. We need to bring businesses back to Mumbai and make job creation for our youth a top priority."

On the other hand, Anil Ambani has been the target of Congress president Rahul Gandhi who accuse Prime Minister Narendra Modi of "bypassing" the Rafale deal (buying of 36 fighter jets from France by India) and giving the offset contract to Mukesh Ambani's brother.

The Rafale deal has been the potboiling issue which has led to a major face-off between the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress.

Deora is contesting from South Mumbai constituency in the ongoing Lok Sabha polls.'

Recently, Mukesh Amabni helped his brother Anil Ambani to pay up dues to Ericsson, saving the latter from going to jail.
