Srinagar, Apr 16 (UNI) Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti on Tuesday expressed concern over the grenade attack by unidentified person on the residence of a National Conference (NC) leader at Tral in south Kashmir district of Pulwama.

Meanwhile, NC vice-president Omar Abdullah thanked Mehbooba for her concern and said, “Allah was kind, thankfully the programme had concluded & Masoodi Sahib & other colleagues were in a nearby home when the grenade fell.”

“Very sorry to hear about a grenade attack on NC’s Anantnag Parliamentary candidate. Relieved to know that he is safe & no other casualties/ damage was reported. Allah sab ko salamat rakhay,” Mehbooba, who is the PDP candidate from Anantnag Lok Sabha seat and former chief minister of J&K, wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.

“Thank you for your concern. Allah was kind, thankfully the programme had concluded & Masoodi Sahib & other colleagues were in a nearby home when the grenade fell. Sadly this is the umpteenth time Ashraf & his family have faced this sort of attack in recent years,” Abdullah, who is the former chief minister of the state, wrote while responding to Mehbooba’s tweet.

Unknown persons lobbed a grenade at the residence of NC leader Muhammad Ashraf Bhat at Tral on Tuesday though no one was injured in the incident.
