Mawayati rules out possibility of alliance with SP

New Delhi, Aug 13 (IBNS): Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Wednesday ruled out any possibility of alliance with the Samajwadi Party (SP) that is currently ruling Uttar Pradesh (UP).

Mayawati said her party would never join hands with Mulayam Singh Yadav-led SP to fight the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

“Mulayam Singh Yadav is already hand in glove with the BJP. There is no possibility to forge any alliance with them,” the BSP supremo told reporters outside Parliament.

She said the people of UP want BSP to be in the seat of power.

“Whenever SP comes to power in UP, the rates of crime and mafia activities shoot up like anything across the state,” Mayawati said.

Earlier, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav had said on Monday that both arch rivals of Uttar Pradesh Mulayam Singh Yadav and Mayawati should join hands to take on the BJP in the state.

Responding to Lalu’s remarks, Mulayam Singh on Wednesday said: “If Lalu mediates, I will join hands with Mayawati.”
