Man climbs 50 feet tall tower to commit suicide

Guwahati, Sep 16 (IBNS): A man climbed 50 feet electrical tower to commit suicide in Assam’s Biswanath district last night.

The incident took place at Pub Jinjia area, where a man identified as Chaniram Orang, had climbed the 132 KV transmission line tower to commit suicide.

When some locals noticed it, they immediately informed police and a police team rushed to the spot.

“We reached at the spot after receiving the information that a man climbed the electrical tower. We agreed to fulfil his demands and requested him to come down,” a police officer said.

Later, the police team with the help of locals had rescued the man.
