Maharashtra: Young woman, elderly man commit suicide in Jalgaon

Jalgaon/UNI: Two people, including a young woman and old man, allegedly committed suicide by hanging themselves at separate incidents in the city.

In an incident, a 23-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan in her house at Kanchan Nagar area of the city on Sunday, police said.

The deceased was identified as Tejashree Rajendra Chauedhary, resident of Kanlika Mata Mandir in Kanchan Nagar area of the city.

The cause of suicide has yet to be ascertained.

The Shanipeth police station has registered a case of accidental death in this regard.

In another incident, one Shankar Vaman Suryavanshi (75), committed suicide by hanging himself in his house at Vitthal Nagar area of the city on Sunday.

He had been suffering from a disease of knees for past few years.

A case of accidental death has been registered at Ramanand Nagar police station in this regard, sources added.
