Maharashtra: Thane crosses 30,000 corona cases

Thane/UNI:  With addition of 1,345 new corona positive cases here in a single day on Sunday, the district's tally surged to 30,289, the reports from the district headquarters said.

Among the new positive patients, Kalyan-Dombivili recorded the highest of 369 cases, followed by Thane-341, Navi Mumbai-197, Mira-Bhayandar-116 and Ulhasnagar-101.

The total number of positive cases reported across the district were as such Thane city-8,168, Navi Mumbai-6,200, Kalyan-Dombivili-5,678 and Mira Road-Bhayander-3,015.

The report also said that 36 deaths due to the pandemic were reported across the district, including 14 in Thane alone, pushing the toll to 983.

The recovery rate in the entire district was 47.84 per cent and the mortality rate stood at 3.25 per cent today.

In the district the highest recovery rate of 62.96 per cent was reported in Mira Road-Bhayander while the highest mortality rate of 5.75 per cent was recorded in Bhiwandi.
Meanwhile, the neighbouring Palghar district reported total 4,244 positive cases and 120 deaths till date, the reports from the district stated.
