Maharashtra: Fire at shopping complex in Thane, no casualty

Thane/UNI: At least six shops were gutted in a fire in a shopping complex of a housing colony at G B Road on Friday morning, the civic official said.

The chief of the RDMC of the TMC Santosh Kadam said the incident occurred around 6 am.

However, no report of any casualties so far, he said.

The blaze is a big one and totally damaged a pharmaceutical shop, a sweet meat shop, a liquor shop and a couple of hardware shops in the complex, he said.

The cause of the fire was yet to be ascertained.

The fire fighters are still working to control the fire, he added.
