Aurangabad/UNI: Maharashtra State Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has sent a reminder to Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri that the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation should issue a notification to rename Aurangabad Airport as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Airport on Wednesday.

In his tweet message stated the state cabinet has already decided to name the Aurangabad airport after Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.

A resolution to this effect has also been unanimously passed in the budget session of the legislature in both the houses.

Correspondence has also been received with the Union Ministry from the level of Chief Secretary regarding the naming.

Accordingly, the notification to rename Aurangabad Airport as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Airport should be issued as soon as possible, Thackeray added.
