Maharashtra: Boat capsizes off Mumbai coast, 8 on board rescued safely

Thane, June 4 (UNI) A fishing boat with eight persons on board capsized during the intervening night of June 2-3, the District Rural Police said on Tuesday.
Fortunately, all eight members were rescued, the police added.

The Uttan Sagari Police Station House Officer (SHO) said, "The Ajanta boat, with the owner Royan Soans and seven fishermen, were set out for fishing on June 2."

"When they were returning back, the boat capsized around 30 nautical miles from Mumbai and all the eight persons were fell in the mid-sea," the SHO further added.

According to the police, the eight persons were rescued safely by two other boats sailing nearby.

The boat drowned completely at 0700 hours on Monday morning and two rescue boats were sent for further action, the police concluded.
