Lok Sabha polls: Congress fields C.J. Chavda against Amit Shah

New Delhi, Apr 3 (IBNS): The Congress on Wednesday named party leader C.J. Chavda as its candidate to contest from Gujarat's Gandhinagar seat in the Lok Sabha polls.

He will contest against Bharatiya Janata Party's president Amit Shah. 

The Congress on Wednesday announced another list of 20 candidates for the Lok Sabha polls where some of the sitting MPs in Punjab have been named.

As per the list, the party has named Sunil Jakhar from Gurdaspur, Gurjit Singh Aujla from Amritsar, Ravneet Singh Bittu from Ludhiana and Santokh Singh Chaudhary from Jalandhar.

The party named Preneet Kaur from Patiala and Pawan Kumar Bansal from Chandigarh.

Rajkumar Chabbewal has been fielded from Hoshiarpur.

The Congress named ex-Union Minister Subodh Kant Sahay from Ranchi seat in Jharkhand.

In the latest list released, the Congress party named four candidates from Gujarat, six from Punjab, two each from Odisha and Karnataka, three from Jharkhand and one each from Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh and Dadra and Nagar Haveli.
