Patna, Jul 13 (IBNS) Rashtriya Janata Dal chief lalu on Monday led his partymen to march to Bihar Governor Keshri Nath Tripathi's residence demanding Centre to release caste census.

The former Bihar chief minister's move is being seen as an attempt to build pressure on the Narendra Modi government at the centre.

The Narendra Modi government on July 3 released country's first Socio Economic and Caste Census 2011, which revealed that India has  24.39 crore households, of which 17.91 belong to the rural areas.

According to the data, the country has 68.96 lakh households headed by females, with no adult male member between age 18 and 59, while there are 7.16 lakh houses had differently able members with no other able bodied adult member.
