Kolkata: Two Bangladeshi nationals were killed as a speeding Jaguar rammed into them after hitting a Mercedes Sedan on Saturday, media reports said.

The incident occurred at the Loudon Street crossing at 1:50 pm.

The two luxury vehicles went out of control and crushed the victims against a wall who were standing outside a Kolkata Police Traffic outpost to escape the rain.

The two victims were taken to hospital where they were declared brought dead. The third Bangladeshi national could manage to escape after being hit by the car.

Arsalan Parvez, who was driving the Jaguar, belongs to a Kolkata family which runs restaurant chain Arsalan. Parvez, the accused, fled the spot after the accident but was later arrested.

The Bangladeshis had come to Kolkata for medical treatment of the third person.
