Kolkata man riding two-wheeler dies after Chinese kite string slits his throat on AJC Bose flyover

Kolkata/IBNS: A 40-year-old biker died after his throat was slit by a Chinese kite string (glass-coated sharp manjha) while he was riding his two-wheeler along A.J.C. Bose flyover near Park Circus Seven Point Crossing , officials said.

According to reports, thread of a flying kite entwined the neck of the biker and slit his throat badly when he was riding his bike.

The accident occurred in Beniapukur Police Station limits in south-east Kolkata at around 5:15 pm on Saturday.

He was rushed to Calcutta National Medical College (CNMC) where the middle-aged man was pronounced dead.

A city police official said that the deceased was identified as Akhtar Khan, a resident of Kabi Tirtha Sarani in Watganj area.

Though, multiple kite-string injuries were reported on A.J.C. Bose flyover and Maa flyover earlier, this is the first incident of a biker's death caused by Chinese kite thread in the city, reports said.
