Khurshid's wife accuses Modi of political vendetta

New Delhi, Sep 18 (IBNS): Senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid's wife Louise Khurshid on Wednesday accused the Narendra Modi-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government of "political vendetta", reports said.

The attack came a day after the Union Social Justice Ministry referred a case against her NGO to the Law Ministry for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe.

Welcoming a CBI investigation, Louise Khurshid said why no action was being taken against all the 93 NGOs “blacklisted” by the ministry.

“We don’t have anything to worry about CBI. We have submitted all our documents to the Ministry. The Ministry has sought the Law Ministry’s opinion…There is law in this land. No one can blacklist any NGO without legal reasons. If they do so, I will approach the Court,” she said.

“If they do, it will mean that they are selectively targeting. Why no action has been taken against 93 NGOs. An NGO was blacklisted on September 15 but there is no mention of that," said Louise who runs the Dr Zakir Husain Memorial Trust.
