Thiruvananthapuram/IBNS: A CPM councillor and school teacher in Kerala's  Malappuram has been booked for allegedly abusing students for nearly three decades, media reports said.

KV Sasi Kumar, who has been a three-term councillor with the Malappuram Municipality, has been expelled by his party following the allegations, media reports said.

Opposition parties, including the Mahila Congress and Vanitha League, have held protest marches in Malappuram after the police informed them that Sasi is absconding.

The incident came to light after a former student commented about her bad experience under a retirement post by Sasi on his Facebook page.

Soon many other students followed the trait and shared their experiences

The school alumni association even alleged that the management refused to act despite repeated complaints against Sasi.

Many students alleged that they had complained against Sasi even in 2019.
