Karnataka: Two chain snatchers receive bullet injuries fired by Police in self defence

Bengaluru, May 20(UNI) Two chain snatchers sustained bullet injuries fired by Police in self defense while they tried to escape after an unsuccessful attempt to rob a woman in Bagalagunte area in the city on Monday.

Police said that the injured were identified as Karan Gupta and Surendra Singh, both hailed from Delhi. Both of them were injured on their knees and were admitted to Hospital.

The duo allegedly involved in over 20 chain snatching in different areas and in the city.

Immediately after getting tip a Police team led by Inspector Lohit attached to Nandini Layout Police station, confronted both the criminals and opened fire after the duo tried to attack team with lethal weapon in attempt to escape.

A case has been registered by the Yeshwanthpur police into the incident, the sources added.
