Karnataka: BJP MLA tests positive for Covid-19

Bengaluru/UNI: Former minister and senior BJP MLA, Haratal Halappa, representing Sagar Assembly seat in Shivamogga district, tested positive for the Covid-19 on Tuesday.

According to official sources, the BJP MLA, who had recently appointed as the Chairman of the state-owned MSIL recently, tested positive for the pandemic and is presently being treated at a private hospital in the city.

Sources said that the MLAs, wife and his driver also tested positive for the Covid-19 and was admitted to the hospital.

It may be recalled that on Monday, two JD(S) MLAs, from Guramatkal and Nagamangala respectively, from the state also tested positive for the Covid-19 in the state. 

Earlier Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa and his predecessor Siddaramaiah had tested positive for the deadly virus.
