Karnataka: A woman and her fiance murdered over illicit relationship

Kalaburagi , June 5 (UNI) A woman and her fiance were murdered over illicit relationship in Belagumpa village in the District on Tuesday night.

Police said on Wednesday the deceased were identified as Mademma Bhimashankar (28) and Shankar Myakeri (40). Both were married and had two children each. After Bhimashankar, husband of Mademma deserted her, she was living with her relative in Belagumpa village.

She befriended Shankar R Myakeri of the same village. The friendship turned into love. As they were married, the relatives admonished them to the sever relationship. But they continued to live despite the warning.

When Mademma and Shankar were at home on Tuesday night, a relative of Mademma killed her with an axe and when Shankar who tried to run away was also murdered brutally.

A manhunt has been launched to nab the accused. A case has been registered at Faratabad police station.
