J&K: Army kills four militants in Kupwara district

Srinagar, Sept 20 (IBNS) Foiling an infiltration bid, security personnel on Saturday killed four militants in Tangdhar sector of Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district on Saturday.

"An infiltration bid was foiled by the Army and four militants were killed in an intelligence-based operation in Tangdhar sector of Kupwara district near LoC," the Indian Army said in a statement.

Four AK 47 rifles,assorted ammunition and warlike stores were recovered from the scene of the gunbattle which began in the wee hours of Saturday, the Army said.

"The identity and group affiliation of the militants are being ascertained," it said.
