Giridih/UNI: BJP MP from Unnao Sakshi Maharaj was on Saturday quarantined in Shanti Bhawan of this district.

The MP had arrived in the city on Friday and was on his way to Dhanbad on Saturday when he was stopped midway at Pirtand by the authorities who asked him to stay in quarantine, citing the guidelines of the MHA in wake of the Coronavirus crisis.

Sakshi Maharaj along with others have been put under 14 days quarantine in Shanti Bhawan in the city.

The MP had initially raised objections over the acts of the officials and pointed that since he had travelled through road there was no need to place him into quarantine.

However, as the authorities did not budge, Sakshi Maharaj was forced to return to Giridih and was placed under quarantine.

As per the SOPs set by the Jharkhand government any person coming to the state from outside has to be under 14 days of compulsory home quarantine.
