Deve Gowda had allowed his grand-son Prajwal Revanna to contest in Mandya, in which he had got elected for five terms to the Lok Sabha, before deciding to migrate to the neighboring Vokkaliga dominated Tumakuru seat.

Prajwal's halfbrother, Nikhil Kumaraswamy, who is also e son of the Chief minister H D Kumaraswamy, had also lost in a fiercely contested Lok Sabha elections in Mandya Lok Sabha seat, to an independent Candidate
