Jammu Kasmir: Narrow escape for Mehbooba Mufti in car accident

Srinagar: Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti had a narrow escape after the car she was travelling in met with an accident this afternoon.

The accident occurred at Sangam in J&K's Anantnag district.

Picture from the accident shows the bonnet of her SUV crumpled from the impact.

Though the crash with another car left her Scorpio heavily damaged, photos confirm Mehbooba Mufti was not hurt in the accident.

The PDP chief was en route to meet victims of a fire accident, when Mufti's car collided with a civilian car, leaving one of her security officers injured.

"Ms Mufti's car met with a terrible accident en route Anantnag today. Thanks to the grace of god she & her security officers escaped unhurt without any serious injuries," posted her daughter Iltija on X.

The leader was able to continue with her scheduled visit.
