Srinagar/UNI: A Jash-e-Mohammad (JeM) militant hideout was busted and incriminating material was recovered at Tral in south Kashmir district of Pulwama, a police official said here on Saturday.

He said based on specific information regarding presence of JeM militants in Takiya Gulabagh in Tral, a joint Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) was launched by police, Army and CRPF in the area on Friday.

"During the search, a hideout of proscribed militant outfit JeM was busted and subsequently destroyed," he said, adding the joint team was also able to recover incriminating materials from the hideout.

He said the incriminating material has been taken into custody for the purpose of investigation. "Accordingly, a case FIR No 77/2020 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Tral and investigation into the matter has been initiated," he added.
