Jammu and Kashmir: 3 LeT terrorists trapped in Budgam, encounter underway

Budgam: Three terrorists, supposedly belonging to Lashkar-e-Taiba terror group, are trapped in an encounter that is underway in Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said on Wednesday.

Police said one of the trapped militants is Lateef Rathar who is accused of several civilian killings including that of Kashmiri Pandit Rahul Bhat and woman artist Amreen Bhat.

The encounter broke out early Wednesday at Waterhail area of Budgam during a cordon and a search operation which was launched by a joint team of forces following an input about militant presence.

Police said joint forces were on the job.

Terrorist Lateef is involved in several #civilian #killings including Rahul Bhat & Amreen Bhat: ADGP Kashmir @JmuKmrPolice,” Additional Director General of Police, Vijay Kumar was quoted in a police tweet.
