India-China border standoff: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh visits Ladakh
Leh: Amid recent standoff with China at the Galwan Valley, Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday arrived in Ladakh where he will be visiting forward areas.
According to media reports, he is accompanied by CDS Bipin Rawat and Army Chief General M M Naravane.
Earlier in the day, Singh said he is looking forward to his visit.
" Leaving for Leh on a two day visit to Ladakh and Jammu-Kashmir. I shall be visiting the forward areas to review the situation at the borders and also interact with the Armed Forces personnel deployed in the region. Looking forward to it," he tweeted.

India and China have been engaged in discussions through established military and diplomatic channels to address the prevailing situation along the LAC, read a government statement released on Thursday.
Commanders from PLA & Indian Army held a meeting at Chushul, on Indian side, for the fourth round of talks, on 14 July 2020.
The engagement was consistent with the consensus reached between the Special Representatives of India and China earlier, on 05 July, to discuss complete disengagement.
The Senior Commanders reviewed the progress on implementation of the first phase of disengagement and discussed further steps to ensure complete disengagement.
The two sides remain committed to the objective of complete disengagement.
This process is intricate and requires constant verification.
They are taking it forward through regular meetings at diplomatic and military level.
