IAS association criticises govt over sending notice to Bastar DM for wearing sunglasses during Modi's visit
Bastar, May 17 (IBNS): The IAS Association has criticised the Chhattisgarh government for serving a notice to Bastar collector Amit Katariya for receiving Prime Minister Narendra Modi while wearing sunglasses.
The association told CNN-IBN that there is no dress code rule in civil services manual and has called the notice foolish.
It has said that the dress code is only applicable when the officer goes to meet the Prime Minister and not the other way round.
The association also defended the officer saying he wore the sunglasses to protect his eyes.
The Chhattisgarh government had earlier warned the Collector for not following the protocol and not showing "integrity and devotion" towards duty.
"The act ( wearing sunglasses) is in violation of the Section 3 (1) of the All India Services (Conduct) Rules, 1968," the notice reads.
