Hyderabad: Boy drowns in swimming pool

Hyderabad, Feb 23 (UNI) A 15-year-old boy drowned in a swimming pool at Rajendranagar on the outskirts of the city, on Friday evening.

The deceased was identified as Mohammad Khaja.

The boy had gone for a swim along with four of his friends to A-Z swimming pool located at Shivarampalli area in Rajendranagar.
Rajendranagar police said here on Saturday that even when his friends left the swimming pool, Khaja was was alone inside the swimming pool.

There was no trainer available as his duty was completed, police said, adding the incident took place at around 7 pm.

After verifiying the CCTV footage near the swimming pool, there was no one there when the incident took place and Khaja could be seen making attempts to swim.

He swam towards deeper end of the pool which is 7-feet in depth when he was drowned, police said.

The body was shifted to Osmania general hospital for autopsy and a case of negligence was registered against the swimming pool management, police added.
