Heavy rain logs out Mumbai, train services worst hit

Mumbai, June 19 (IBNS) Torrential rains crippled life in India's financial capital Mumbai as train services were suspended and water logged streets stranded vehicles and buses since last night.

 

Most parts of the city are water logged and Mumbai's lifeline, the local train service, was worst hit. 
 
Schools and colleges were closed owing to the heavy rain. 
 
Reports said the Harbour line train service was suspended while other lines were also affected.
 
A Western Railway release said "suburban services are affected due to heavy rains and water-logging in several areas in Mumbai Central and Matunga."
 
The rail authorities advised people to travel by train only if necessary. 
 
More rains were predicted by MET department.
