He can go wherever he wants: Nitish Kumar acts tough against Pavan Verma

Sending out a strong message, Kumar, who is also the Bihar Chief Minister, said, "He can go wherever he wants but issuing such statements in public is not right."

Verma on Tuesday hit out at Kumar asking him to "clarify" his ideology as the JD(U) is set to contest the upcoming Delhi assembly elections in an alliance with the BJP at a time the widespread protests are taking place against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NRC).

Making a letter to Kumar public, Verma tweeted, "This is the letter I have written to ⁦ @NitishKumar today asking him how the JD(U) has formed an alliance with the BJP for the Delhi elections, given his own views on the BJP, and the massive national outrage against the divisive CAA-NPR-NRC scheme."

In the letter, the JD(U) spokesperson also cited his first meeting with Kumar where the party chief had said, according to him, that "Narendra Modi and his policies are inimical for the country".

He had also stated in the letter how Kumar had confessed to Verma how the current BJP leaders had insulted the Chief Minister.

This not the first time but earlier also Verma had contradicted with his party's stand.

Following the passage of the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill (CAB) in Parliament with the support of JD(U), Verma had spoken against the party's stand over the new contentious citizenship law.
