Guwahati : Armed forces express gratitude to COVID-19 warriors with flower petal showers, flypasts
Guwahati/IBNS: The Indian Air Force (IAF) helicopters on Sunday conducted a flypast in Guwahati to express gratitude towards the the doctors, nurses and all other frontline warriors fighting the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).
An Mi-17 helicopter conducted a flypast starting from Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati and showered flower petals over the COVID-19 warriors at Guwahati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) and Mahendra Mohan Choudhury hospital in Guwahati giving the COVID-19 warriors aerial salute.
This was part of the nationwide campaign by the armed forces to support and express gratitude to the frontline warriors battling against COVID-19.
Guwahati based Defence PRO Lt Colonel P Khong said today the armed forces paid tribute to all the COVID-19 warriors across the country with flypasts, floral showers, armed salutes, and army bands playing patriotic tunes.
“We saluted them, we expressed gratitude towards their effort by showering flower petals. A Mi-17 helicopter conducted the flypast in Guwahati,” the Defence PRO said.
In Guwahati, the armed forces conducted band display at Guwahati Medical College Hospital.
The IAF helicopter also conducted a flypast and showered flower petals on the COVID-19 warriors at Shillong civil hospital.
