Gujarat allowed to raise the height of Narmada dam

Ahmedabad, June 12 (IBNS): The Narmada Control Authority on Thursday allowed to raise the height of the Sardar Sarovar Dam by 17 metres to achieve its final height.

Thanking Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the issue, Gujarat Chief Minister  Anandiben Patel tweeted: "Heartfelt gratitude from the people of Gujarat to Hon PM @narendramodi. The decision pending has come so swiftly. Achchhe din aa Gaye hain!!"

She said: "Welcome the news of the clearance given by the Central Govt to put up the gates on the Sardar Sarovar Dam, the lifeline of Gujarat."
