Governor's Medal give to NCC cadets

Kolkata, Feb 6 (IBNS) In a ceremony at the Rajbhavan on Friday, West Bengal Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi was awarded 'Governor's Medal' to 48 NCC cadets of the West Bengal and Sikkim Directorate for their outstanding accomplishments in the year 2014-2015.

The Governor also felicitated the West Bengal & Sikkim, NCC national games team for winning the prestigious national games for the second consecutive year and winning the Raksha Mantri Trophy with 03 Gold, 02 Silver and 01 Bronze.

Awardees also included thirteen shooters who excelled at the Inter Directorate Shooting Championship at Asansol, West Bengal State Shooting Championship, All India GV Mavlankar Shooting Championship held at Ahmedabad and at 58th National Shooting Championship Competition at Pune and brought laurels to the State of West Bengal and Sikkim.

Cadet Ravi Kant Singh of 5 Bengal Bn NCC Darjeeling’ won the medal for the best Senior Division (Army) category,  Cadet Akshay Kumar Singh of 2 Bengal Naval Unit Kolkata ‘C” won the Senior Division (Navy) and Senior Division  (Air) went to Cadet  Mohammad Nafish of 1 Bengal Air Sqn Kolkata ‘B’.

Cadet Unnati Pandey of 49 Bengal Bn NCC Kalyani was awarded for exemplary courage and bravery for climbing the Mount Rudugaira.
