New York, July 30 (IBNS): Popular search engine Google on Thursday paid homage to former Indian President APJ Abdul Kalam, who passed away on Monday, by displaying a black ribbon on its homepage.

If netizens moved their mouse cursor on the black ribbon then a small message is seen which reads: "In memory of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam."

Kalam's funeral will be held at his hometown Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu on Thursday.

His body reached the town from Delhi on Wednesday.

His funeral will be held with full military honours.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other leaders will attend Kalam's funeral.

Kalam, a scientist of eminence and Bharat Ratna, died following a massive heart attack while speaking at a programme of Indian Institute of Management, Shillong, on Monday.
