GNLF chief Subhas Ghising passes away

Siliguri, Jan 29 (IBNS): Gorkha National Liberation Front (GNLF) chief Subash Ghising has passed away in New Delhi on Thursday, reports said.

He was 79.

The leader breathed his last at a hospital in the national capital following prolonged illness.

He was the chairman of the Darjeeling Gorkha Hill Council in West Bengal, India from 1988 to 2008.

He had spearheaded the Gorkhaland movement in the 1980s.

Subhash Ghisingh was born on June  22, 1936 in Darjeeling district.
