New Delhi, Jan 16 (IBNS): A gas pipeline went off and caught fire in a south Delhi neighbourhood on Friday morning during digging work for the metro, reports said.

No one was injured in the accident.

The incident took place at the Moti Bagh area when a fire started after a leak in the gas pipeline operated by the state-owned Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL).

As many as 10 fire tenders were rushed to the spot to bring the fire under control.

GAIL officials said the explosion and the subsequent fire occurred when third part contractors working for Delhi Metro dug up the area.
