Four killed in road mishap in Ambedkarnagar
Ambedkarnagar, May 14 (UNI) Four people, including a journalist, were killed in a road accident near Khapura in the Sammanpur area of this district in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday.
According to the police, retired Army captain Lakshmikant (65), a resident of Badepur in the Jalalpur area was not keeping well since some time.
Journalist Arvind Upadhyaya (45), hailing from neighbouring district Jaunpur, had come to Badepur and was taking his relative Lakshmikant to Medical College, Saddarpur for treatment in a car.
Lakshmikant's wife Kanti Upadhyaya (62) was also accompanying them. Car was being driven by Badepur resident Ram Raj.
The car turned turtle and rammed into a dumper while trying to save a motorcycle-borne individual near a brick kiln situated at Khapura at the Azamgarh-Akbarpur road, leading to on the spot death of the four people.
Police recovered the bodies with the help of the local people.
Motorcycle-borne Abhishek has been admitted to the district hospital.
SDM (Sadar) Abhishek Pathak and Circle Officer (CO) Dharmendra Sachan reached the spot with the police force of several outposts.
The damaged car was removed from the road with the help of the locals.
