Former JD-S MLA dies of Covid-19

Shivamogga/UNI: Former Karnataka Legislator and the JD(S) leader Appaji Gowada passed away after a brief illness, last night, family sources said on Thursday.

He was 67 and survived a daughter, son and wife.

The deceased had tested positive for the Covid-19 pandemic, the sources said.

The JD-S leader had represented the Bhadravathi Assembly constituency for three times and had lost the 2018 Assembly elections to the Congress candidate BK Sangameshwar.

Former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy, former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda and others have condoled the demise of Gowda.
