New Delhi, Apr 10 (IBNS): The Supreme Court on Wednesday denied bail to former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad who is serving a jail term in several fodder scam cases, media reports said.

The top court had asked to file a bail plea by Apr 9.

Earlier on Jan 10, the Jharkhand High Court had dismissed the bail plea of Lalu, the chief of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).

Lalu had fraudulently withdrawn money from the treasuries of Animal Husbandry department in 1990s when he was the Bihar Chief Minister.

The RJD chief is serving a 14-year old jail term.
