Firecracker factory in Uttar Pradesh catches fire, four die

Four persons were killed and eight others injured when an explosion took place in a firecracker factory after it caught fire in Kokhraj area of Kaushambi district here in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday, police sources said here.

Sources said that the incident took place in Khallabad locality where a firecracker factory was being run by Sharafat.

"On Friday when around two dozen workers were preparing firecrackers the factory caught fire leading into an explosion," they said.

Police sources said that four persons were charred to death in the incident.

"The police and fire tenders reached the spot and controlled the fire. Efforts are being made to identify the victims," they said.
