Family members of former President Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed left out of Assam NRC list
Guwahati, Sept 2 (IBNS): Among the 19 lakh people, who were left out from the final National Register of Citizens (NRC) list, which was published on Aug 31, one was the family of former President of India late Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed.
Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed was the fifth president of India who had served the nation from 1974 to 1977.
Family of the son of Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed’s brother was not listed in the final NRC.
Sajid Ali Ahmed, son of the nephew of the former President of India said his name was not listed in the final NRC.
Sajid Ali Ahmed’s father Ziauddin Ali Ahmed is the son of Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed’s brother and they are living at Barbhagia village near Rongia in Assam’s Kamrup district.
Sajid Ali Ahmed said that apart from him, his father Ziauddin Ali Ahmed, nephew of Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed, was also not figured in the final list.
“My grandfather’s name is Ikramuddin Ali Ahmed and he is the brother of former President of India Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed. I am his grandson. We are living in Barbhagia village under Rongia Sub-Division. We are local resident. Our names are not listed and we are worried about it. We are the family members of the former President of India, but our names are missing in the list,” Sajid Ali Ahmed said.
