New Delhi, June 14 (IBNS): Former servicemen will organise Mahasangram rallies in 55 cities across India over their demand of One Rank One Pension on Sunday. The rally will be followed by an indefinite hunger strike from June 15.
One Rank One Pension scheme has been a demand of over three million ex-servicemen of the Indian Army.

The scheme is to ensure that a uniform pension is paid to defence personnel who retire at the same rank with the same length of service, irrespective of their date of retirement. According to CNN IBN report, over twenty two lakh ex-army personnel and over six lakh widows are expected to be benefited from this scheme.

Over 5,000 people are expected to join the protest. Later in the day they are likely to meet President Pranab Mukherjee.

PM Narendra Modi in his last programme of Man ki baat which was broadcast on May 31, had assured that his government will find a solution to the ‘One Rank One Pension’ issue soon.
