Engine stalls, Jaipur-bound IndiGo flight returns to Lucknow

New Delhi, Jan 21 (IBNS): The pilot of an IndiGo flight from Lucknow to Jaipur on Monday flew back to the Uttar Pradesh capital after noticing vibration in one of the engines, Hindustan Times reported.

The engine on flight 6E-451 stalled shortly after take off. A technical team is now inspecting the aircraft.

This is the latest incident involving the Pratt and Whitney engines in the A320neo aircraft.

IndiGo currently has 66 A320neo aircraft in service and one A321neo.
 
The ministry of civil aviation had recently held a review meeting on safety issues related to the engines and called for extra safety protocols for aircraft with the Neo engines, the report added.
