Eight NDFB(S) militants nabbed in Assam
Assam Police IGP of BTAD Dr LR Bisnoi said five hardcore cadres of NDFB(S) were nabbed in Kokrajhar district on Sunday.
Following a tip-off, the police and the Army Red horns division had jointly launched operation at Ripu reserve forest area near Moinaguri under Kachugaon police station in Kokrajhar district and apprehended the militants.
The nabbed militants were identified as Rakeswar Mushahary, Bodang Basumutary alias Danswrang, Bara Mushahary, Daneswar Basumutary alias B Daphung, Kharta Brahma alias Jwngsar.
The security forces recovered two 7.65mm pistols, three 36HE grenades, eight rounds 7.62 AK ammunition, two rounds 7.65mm ammunition two mobile handsets in possession from them.
In separate operation launched by army at Manas reserve forest in Chirang district and nabbed another hardcore militant of NDFB(S) who involved in the recent massacre in Kokrajhar district.
Th security personnel had recovered extortion notes, appointment list and incriminating documents of the outfit group.
In other hand, police and army had apprehended two militants of the outfit group from Darrangamela area in Tamulpur on Saturday.
The nabbed militants were identified as Laoga Basumutary and Girish Soren and recovered two hand grenades, eight detonators in possession from them.
"Intensified operation has continued against militants in BTAD area and more than 50 militants had arrested so far," Assam police IGP of BTAD Dr LR Bisnoi said.
