Kolkata/UNI: On the eve of the resumption of suburban services in West Bengal, the Eastern Railway has urged the commuters to maintain covid-19 protocol and avoid overcrowding in trains.

During peak hours out of timetabled 177 services, 148 services will run for the convenience and health security of the commuters.

.
"It is about 84 per cent of the total time tabled services during peak hours,"ER said in a statement.

"The basic objective behind running more trains in peak hours is to avoid overcrowding and thus resist the spread of COVID-19. By this way, the passengers can also travel comfortably availing train services in short succession."

Eastern Railway has laid stress on sanitization of EMU coaches & cleanliness of station premises to combat Covid-19.

For the implementation of physical distancing, one seat in between passengers is crossed marked (X).
