Due to rising water levels, shutters of Bhoothathankettu barrage to be lifted
Kochi, Jun 8 (UNI): In the wake of rising water levels in the catchement areas, the shutters of Bhoothathankettu barrage will be raised anytime to release water, sources in Periyar Valley Irriagation Project said here on Saturday.
Sources also said the people residing on the banks of Periyar river have being warned of rising water levels.
Meteorological Centre here has predicted rains in Kerala in the next 24 hours due to onset of southwest monsoon.
