New Delhi/IBNS: Domestic flights will resume "in a calibrated manner" from Monday, the government said today, according to the reports.

Domestic flights were stopped soon after the Janata Curfew on March 22 in order to contain the spread of coronavirus.

"Domestic civil aviation operations will recommence in a calibrated manner from Monday 25th May 2020. All airports & air carriers are being informed to be ready for operations from 25th May," tweeted Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Puri.

SOPs for passenger movement are also being separately issued by the ministry, he added.

Reports said details about a "new normal" with fewer passengers and the middle seat left for maintaining social distancing.

After the Centre issued guidelines for Lockdown 4.0 with incremental easing of restrictions, the DGCA had said the domestic commercial flights will remain suspended til May 31.
