Delhi Police arrest man for giving triple talaq to wife

New Delhi, Aug 10 (UNI ) A man has been arrested by Delhi Police for giving triple talaq to his wife, police said on Saturday.

According to police, a woman filed a complaint with Police Station Bara Hindu Rao alleging that her husband had pronounced Talaq three times on her and later sent a Fatwah over Whatsapp regarding it.

The two were married in the year 2011, while the husband allegedly pronounced the talaq on June 23 this year.

The man is a resident of Naya Mohalla , Azad Market Delhi.

A case under section 4 of the Muslim Women( Protection of Rights on Marriage) Act 2019 has been registered in this connection.
