New Delhi/IBNS: Keeping in mind the need to bounce back the economic condition of the national capital amid COVID-19 outbreak, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday said his government will implement all lockdown relaxations that have been prescribed by the Union home ministry.

Delhi has been reporting fresh COVID-19 cases still today and the entire national capital has been in the Red Zone.

Kejriwal said: " Delhi is ready to re-open now."

"We will not be able to sustain the lockdown for long as the economy is in peril," he said.

The Union government extended the lockdown till May 17.

It was earlier scheduled to end on May 3.

This is the third phase of the lockdown which started in March to avoid the spread of COVID-19 in the country.

The country has registered 1306 COVID-19 deaths so far.

The total number of COVID-19 positive cases has crossed 40,000 mark.
