COVID-19 cases in Maharashtra rises to 63

Pune/UNI: Total number of coronavirus positive cases in Maharashtra has risen to 63 from earlier 52, State Health Minister Rajesh Tope said on Saturday.

It is a "big rise" in the number of coronavirus positive patients with the addition of 11 such cases, Mr Tope said and appealed to the people to avoid using public transport to contain the spread.

Of the 11 corona positive people, eight have travel history abroad and three came in contact with the affected persons," he said, adding that 10 cases are in Mumbai, while one is in Pune.

He also disclosed that out of the total number of patients, 13 to 14 patients are those who came in contact with the positive patients.
